Project Information
Traveler’s Delivery Service is a digital zine and merch gift box project around the concept of the traveler twins, Aether and Lumine, operating a delivery service. Like a storybook, the digital zine will be a sequential story of the twin’s delivering a boxed parcel throughout Teyvat. This illustrated box will come to life as a physical merch gift box for customers to purchase along with the digital zine.
Contributor Guidelines
There are 3 main groups within the project: Delivery Route, Book, and Merch Gift Box. Within these groups, there are 3 artist roles and 2 writer roles. There are optional and required collaboration roles between artists and writers. Read on for more info.
Delivery Route
This group’s members will be working on the main digital zine. Like a storybook, the digital zine will be a sequential story of the twin’s delivering a boxed parcel throughout Teyvat. Each member will be expected to create an illustration, a rendered comic or a short story about the twins on their delivery route.Since the zine will tell a sequential story, each location from starting point to destination will influence each other. You will be expected to be active in the discord during the brainstorming phase (25 FEBRUARY - 14 MARCH) so you can discuss with other zine members.
Book
The printed book is a subset of the Merch Gift Box. This book will be considered a merch item but because of it’s more complex and collaborative nature, it is it’s own group. The book will have six 2-3k word short stories, each with a story cover art and 2-3 spot illustrations. Each artist will work with two writers and will be expected to communicate with each other throughout the zine creation period, especially during the brainstorming phase (25 FEBRUARY - 14 MARCH).The book will be about Teyvat, curated and published by Yae Publishing House. There will be 2 stories per region. Stories can be about anything from food, people, traditions, legends etc. Since the book will be marketed to people from Other Worlds (Earth, us!), the stories need to represent or introduce what makes Teyvat great or interesting.Interior Page Artists will be assigned to ONE REGION. Writers will write ONE story about ONE region. One artist will be assigned the book cover.
Merch Gift Box
The gift box will be a set collection of merch items featuring The Best Of Teyvat. Most of these items will be products from various Teyvat establishments like Dawn Winery, Wanmin Restaurant, Naganohara Fireworks, etc. You will design and illustrate products from these places and items fit for a postal/delivery service.There is a set of guaranteed merch items like stamp washi, stickers, postcards, stationery etc. for you to design. There is also a flexible set of merch the mods are willing to work with you to produce. Each artist is expected to design at least 2 pieces of merch.

Compensation
Profits will first go towards production costs then split evenly between contributors and mods. In addition to the profit split, all project members will receive a flat $100 USD on project completion. Everyone will also receive all digital and physical products produced by the project. Leftovers will be sold after pre-orders have shipped. All payments will be made through PayPal.Contributors must be above 16 years of age by Feb 28, 2022. Members under the age of 18 should have the approval of a guardian and can be paid through a guardian's PayPal.
FAQ
What is a zine?
A zine, short for fanzine, is a compilation of artwork and written works made by fans. They’re similar to an artbook or collaborative anthology.Why a digital zine and not a physical one?
Creating a digital zine allows us to cut costs and focus more on producing physical merch while still giving creators the opportunity to participate in a zine. A digital zine also lets us welcome more writers on the team as there are no print cost limitations!Will other characters and/or ships be featured?
Other characters are welcome and encouraged to be featured! However, the project will be Gen, meaning no ships will be allowed unless canon.If there’s sufficient interest, will the contributor count be increased?
Increasing the contributor count is possible for the digital zine side. However, it isn’t guaranteed. The mod team would prefer to manage the project with the focus and quality it deserves rather than have a high contributor count and be stretched too thin.Do I need to have zine experience to apply?
No experience is needed to apply! The mods are happy to welcome those new to zines, and have plenty of experience to help contributors in every step of the process.Will my ship and content preferences affect my chances of acceptance?
Applicants will not be rejected based on their personal ship and content preferences.Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes, though you will only be selected for one position.Will I get an email even if I’m rejected?
